Gun Hill
Gun Hill is the location of the famous lion sculpture; this was sculpted from coral stone by a British officer in 1868. Today, the lion sculpture is an attraction for visitors; Gun Hill also provides a wide panoramic view of the island’s landscape.
Gun Hill is also the location of the Gun Hill Signal Station which is of great historical significance; it was a British military station which was used to alert soldiers of approaching foreign forces that where invading the island on ships. This location was also used to send signals across the island (signals were relayed from one signal station to the next).
