Speightstown
Speightstown is located in St. Peter; Speightstown is one location where you can see historic architecture preserved with buildings which have lasted the test of time. Modern buildings in this city are also built to reflect a similar architecture from the past.
Speightstown was once the main commercial area of Barbados and has a history dating back to as far as 1630, when ships were loaded with sugar to be sent to England; it was even given the name Little Bristol.
Today, Speightstown has a large number of shops where you can find most about anything to your delight; it also has restaurants and bars where you can relax and enjoy your visit. A central point of Speightstown is its Esplanade where you can take a walk or watch a tranquil sunset.
