Speightstown is located in St. Peter; Speightstown is one location where you can see historic architecture preserved with buildings which have lasted the test of time. Modern buildings in this city are also built to reflect a similar architecture from the past.

Speightstown was once the main commercial area of Barbados and has a history dating back to as far as 1630, when ships were loaded with sugar to be sent to England; it was even given the name Little Bristol.

Today, Speightstown has a large number of shops where you can find most about anything to your delight; it also has restaurants and bars where you can relax and enjoy your visit. A central point of Speightstown is its Esplanade where you can take a walk or watch a tranquil sunset.

Accra Beach is one of Barbados’s most popular beaches on the south coast of the island; Accra Beach is located in the parish of Christ Church. Bottom Bay is a remote cove which is located in the parish of St Philip; it is surrounded by coral cliffs.  Bottom Bay provides a tranquil atmosphere to its visitors and is a relaxing get away spot.

Bottom Bay is an exquisite and pictographic location; the area has a number of coconut trees which provide a calming feeling as you delight in strong sea breezes and the sound of sea spray. You can also see the splashing waves roll on the shore and a splendid view of the ocean.

Gun Hill is also the location of the Gun Hill Signal Station which is of great historical significance; it was a British military station which was used to alert soldiers of approaching foreign forces that where invading the island on ships. This location was also used to send signals across the island (signals were relayed from one signal station to the next).

The present church was built in 1836 and has a Gothic design; it was built to replace the previous church that was destroyed by the Great Hurricane of 1831.

The St. John’s Parish Church is located on a hill that provides a magnificent view of the St John’s coast line. Visitors can also see a wide horizon view of the Atlantic Ocean from this location.

Codrington College is an Anglican college and is the oldest such institution in the region. Codrington College has educated many Caribbean Anglican priests. Codrington College is located in St. John, this institution was founded by Christopher Codrington; he donated part of his estate to establish a religious college in Barbados.

The grounds of Codrington College has a unique setting, visitors are fascinated with the scenery of this location. It is surrounded by palm trees and a splendid lily pond. The location also provides a stunning view of the east coast of the island.

Pelican Village is a craft and creative industry shopping centre that has a lot to offer visitors to Barbados. At Pelican village you can view and buy the finest local art and craft. Pelican Village is located in Bridgetown near the Harbour and is a favourite stop for cruise ship visitors to Barbados.

Gift shops are located in Pelican Village; this is where you can find locally handcrafted jewellery, baskets, pottery, straw hats and other exceptional Barbadian craft products. Visitors can also meet local artist and see them at work in the design process. The area also has restaurants and bars for you to relax. See Bridgetown, this is capital city of Barbados. The main Street of Bridgetown is Broad Street, which is the centre of commercial activity in the city.
